This course will address such questions as: What is religion and how is it expressed? What is theology? What is the difference between religion and theology? What is the nature of God, and what is His relation to the world and to man? What is the relationship between religion and ethics? How should religious belief affect our view of man and the world? Readings will include selections from the following authors: Aeschylus, Plato, the Old and New Testaments, St. Augustine, Aquinas, Dante, Thomas Hobbes, Montaigne, Milton, Pascal, John Locke, David Hume, Dostoevsky, and Sigmund Freud.
