Join Memoria in Oxford (England), for a week of Great Books, Great Ideas, and unforgettable learning! Our cohort of around twenty students will share seminars, while also working one-on-one with their tutor on a topic of their own choosing.
Attendees will study in an Oxford library, hear lectures from Oxford scholars and dons, attend beautiful Evensong services, and live the intellectual life that C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and John Henry Newman once did—all in one of the most important academic centers in the world.
What: A 7-day intensive course of seminars and personal tutorials, taught by Oxford scholars and dons in disciplines of your choosing.
For: High-school students ages 14-18, and adults aged 18-99. No affiliation with Memoria College is necessary to attend. NOTE anyone under 18 is expected to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
When: August 3rd-9th, 2025. The program will commence with dinner at 6 PM on August 3rd and will conclude with dinner on the 9th.
Where: Oxford, England.
Price: $1650 (including tuition, two evening meals, and cultural outings)
Credit: 1 credit toward a Memoria College degree, in place of an elective seminar.
Accommodations: Attendees are required to book their own rooms and provide for their own meals (with the exception of the opening and closing dinners). Recommendations for accommodations and options for local dining will be posted soon.
Once registered: Students will be quickly connected with their tutor for an online meeting so they can work to have at least one, but preferably two, academic essays ready for tutorial evaluation prior to their arrival. Each student will complete three essays to receive credit for the tutorial; digital follow-up after the trip is possible if the student is unable to complete all three before leaving Oxford. All work should be complete by September 29th.
Subjects: Tutors are currently available for literature, classics, philosophy, history, law, and theology. For any other domain or for general information about the program, please email the Director of Memoria Tutorials, Prof. Jonathan Price at jprice@memoriacollege.org.
